Dual Reservoir adapter Kit For Early Bus
I want to change out the single Reservoir master cylinder to a dual Res . I seen this kit http://www.wagenswest.com/partstore/index.php/disk-brakes/1955-67-dual-circuit-bus-master-cylinder-kit.html $169.00 plus shipping charge $19.00 Total price $188.00 .  I also seen this https://www.wolfgangint.com/store/product/master-cylinder-adapter-kit-2611011/ for $43.95 plus about $9.00 shipping then I would need to buy a 71-79 bus master cylinder $42.00 and try to find a reservoir which sounds to be hard to find? Anyone have a cheaper solution ?? I also seen this I know it's for a bug instead of Bus but It's bored out to 20.6 MM was wondering if it would work ?? https://www.doghouserepair.com/store/item/8463/16-9554-master-cylinder-bug-67-79-206mm-for-use-with-disc-brakes-china-empi/ Thanks Chris

I also just seen this . seems like a good price on the spacer compared to other companies. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1002657
And found a good article from a guy on how to do it cheaper . Thunk I might go this route  http://www.aircooledtech.com/dual_MC_upgrade/

The kit that Wolfgang sells looks just like the kit I got from Airkewld.  But I don't think Airkewld sells the adapter seperately though.  Someone mentioned that the resevoir they used was from an early Rabbit but I can't swear to it.  I have also heard that there are Volvo resevoirs that will work as well.  But none of this helps without the spacer for the Bay master cylinder.

I run a volvo res on my oval with a dual circuit vw master. The volvo res plugs right into the master on top. Works great, just hard to fill with the gas tank in on a bug. Probably easier on a bus.

Heres pics , the rear end on our 64 bus is a 63 rear end for some reason , and when I took drum off the shoe pads feel right off. We are going to have to replace in front and rear all Brake shoes , wheel cylinders , flex hoses , hard lines and master cylinder , Also have to modify park brake cables a little . took 2 hours to heat and reheat and pound out the pivot pin on the Park brake also all the Star adj took a while to get out and get working again .

Rust Bucket lol. Took forever to pull the Brake peddle off also , because it has a slot on the bolt for a flat screw driver I almost ended up cutting it off lucky I didn't because it's a special bolt so lots of liquid wrench and propane torch got it off cleaned it up and son painted it.

That looks like a long road.....but a fun one to tackle.

Cool pictures the man!
The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.
